Write for us

We welcome pitches that make a particular part of cricket clearer for a general reader. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to judge the subject, approach and scope.

What we welcome

Pitch focused explanations of laws, formats, roles or tactical choices; careful comparisons; and accounts of how a feature of play works in context. Strong proposals answer a real reader question, define their terms and show what the reader will understand by the end. We especially value a distinct angle rather than a broad survey of cricket.

What to include

Use the Contact page to send a working title, a short summary, the intended reader and the key points you would cover. Mention any sources or specialist knowledge the proposal relies on, and flag material that would need checking. A complete article is not required for an initial pitch.

Editorial fit

We look for clear, original writing that separates established rules from interpretation and avoids unsupported certainty. Do not send confidential information, material you do not have permission to share or claims that cannot be checked. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we may ask for changes to scope or framing.
